Xampla is a materials innovation company unlocking the power of natural plant polymers, creating materials that change the world. Our technology uses the natural ability of proteins to be structured into high performance materials without the need for any chemical modification.

Morro™ materials, our first commercial line, is Xampla’s world-first, plastic-free, SUPD-exempt solution for eliminating the most polluting plastics. Morro materials offer high-performance plastic-free alternatives for every-day products, such as takeaway boxes. They are made from plants with no chemical modification and are fully biodegradable in all environments, home compostable, and fully compatible with recycling processes.
Our Morro Coating is already in market with leading packaging manufacturers, distributors and consumer brands, offering high-performance properties that are comparable with plastics – grease barrier, water barrier, and heat sealable – with no chemical modification.

We have just secured $14 million of new investment which will accelerate our mission to replace 10 billion units of single-use plastics. We already have partnerships with big names such as 2M Group of Companies, Huhtamaki and Transcend Packaging, helping us replace polluting coatings on boxes used by food delivery giant Just Eat Takeaway and Bunzl Catering Supplies.
